My name is Margarida Machado Borges, I have a Master's degree in Biotecnology by IST and a bachelor's degree in Biology by UMinho. I am currently working as a researcher at BLC3 R&TD Centre in Nature-Based Solutions. I have a passion for sustainability and technology and hope to work towards innovation in our indstries, a circular economy and a better world for future generations through bioprocesses and new bio-based green solutions. I defended my MSc thesis on the sustainable production of a biosurfactant through alternative substrates and its application in more eco-friendly oil spill response strategies. I feel very proud as from this work also resulted a patent for which I am one of the inventors.
