I am a medical engineer specialized in biomaterials and medical devices. My PhD studies are related to nanomaterials with applications in tissue engineering. Silver nanoparticles and functionalized-silver nanoparticles can be integrated at a wound level since they have high antibacterial properties while also regenerating the tissue due to their functionalization. The fabrication of a device based on silver nanoparticles can reduce wound healing while offering support and bacteria protection. The results of my PhD studies are related to their synthesis, characterization through advanced technique and integration in a polymeric hydrogel for faster applications.
