AHMED HELAL
AHMED A. HELAL (Senior Member, IEEE) was
born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1972. He received
the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering
from Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt
in 1994 and 1998, respectively, and the Ph.D.
degree from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh,
U.K., in 2004. He is currently a Professor of
electrical power engineering with the Electrical
and Control Engineering Department, Faculty of
Engineering and Technology, Arab Academy for
Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Alexandria. From 2008 to
2012, he worked as the Vice Dean for education and training affairs. His
current research interests include renewable energy systems, smart grids, and
various power electronics applications in power systems. He is a member of
IET. He is a CEM.
